Hi Livejournal,

For those of you who don't already know, I will be in the Los Angeles area (Redondo Beach of course!) from Dec. 20 - Jan 2. (I'm going to arrive tonight around 9PM.) So let me know if you want to do anything while I'm out there! :-) I mostly don't even know who reading this is still around that area...

Santa Barbara. I leave on Tuesday(12/23) and get back on Sunday(12/28). Carolyn actually arrives on 12/29.

Interested at all in dinner/hanging-out tonight? See my reply to twizmer below. I'd be driving up around 4:30 or 5, which would get me there probably not earlier than 7:30, given traffic, and heaven knows maybe later. (My mother is trying to discourage me from going at all, but even having not driven in awhile, I suspect my reflexes are still sharper than hers. :-P)

Glorious. Note: I do not have phone numbers or addresses for any of you; my phone number is (310) 809-9044. I need to know where I should find you, and how to reach you when I get there (since I only have a rough estimate of when, because of traffic.) If you guys want to pick a restaurant, that would save me having to think about it, since I don't know what's there. :-)

Oh, hm. Maybe I should come up and visit everyone in the next day or two. I assume you're all within shouting distance of each other. :-) Is there some reasonable sort of gathering we could all have? Maybe get dinner or something? It's a two-hour drive for me, and I'll have to borrow a car, so I'll have to check when I can get away with that tomorrow [I guess it has to be tomorrow?]

Ok, I'd go for dinner tonight, since cpride is apparently leaving tomorrow. It's about a 2 hour drive for me, and gmaps says 3+hours in traffic. So I would probably be heading up starting around 4:30 or 5 (I can't any earlier because of an appointment), and then have dinner and/or hang out, and head back maybe around 9:30ish. How do people [you, Marty, cpride who I will reply to above] feel about dinner in the resulting window?

fwiw I think coming up from LAX on a monday, my dad's experience has been like 2.5ish.

Hey, I realized we didn't get together last week -- how about this week? Today is good, tomorrow is good but at some point I'm leaving for a new years' party, and Thursday is good once I get back. (I leave for Pittsburgh early Friday afternoon.)

I'm babysitting in Long Beach today, and tomorrow I'm here until mid-afternoon, when I have to race to be at my restaurant by 4pm. Thursday I have nothing, so rather than try to meet way late or squeeze something in before New Years, do you want to call me when you get back Thursday, and we can meet up then?
